Christian Education Director

Responsibilities: The Director of Christian Education is responsible for working with the Christian Education Committee and Pastor to organize and lead Riverdale Presbyterian Church’s Children’s Education Programs, as well as to train church members for the task of teaching and leading Christian Education in a shared capacity.

 

Other responsibilities include:

  • Teaching weekly Childrens Church during the Sunday 10:30am Worship Service

  • Oversee the nursery paid and volunteer staff

  • Coordinating Sunday School Childrens education (September - May)

    • Acquiring and adapting curriculum materials

    • Recruiting, training, and supporting teachers

    • Obtaining and organizing necessary study supplies

  • Coordinating and recruiting assistants to help develop children and youth group activities and programs

  • Leading Kids Club bimonthly

  • Leading and organizing the Vacation Bible School Team

  • Work with the Christian Education Elder Chair to create yearly budget and help lead Christian Education in the Church

 

Qualifications: The DCE should have sufficient training and experience necessary to assist in the nurture of the life of the Church. The DCE must have a passion for Christian Education and possess the characteristics and qualities necessary for working harmoniously, effectively, and confidentially with church members, Pastor and other church staff.

 

Hours of Employment: 12-15 hours per week, this includes mandatory Sunday morning obligations

Nursery
Care
Worker

Hours: 9:15 - 11:45 am Sundays

Wage: $45-50 per Sunday

Job Type: Part-Time, Sunday Morning

We are currently in need of a dedicated and caring nursery worker to allow parents the chance to worship knowing their children are safe.

​

Nursery care is available during Sunday School at 9:30 am and Worship at 10:30 am. The number of children will range from one - six. If we have more than five, we will be providing extra help. The ages of the children are 0-3.

 

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate

  • Background checks or we can provide for you

  • Minimum 2 years of experience caring for children from ages 0-4

  • CPR Certified (preferred)

  • Demonstrate knowledge of child development (preferred)

  • Demonstrate a genuine concern for children

  • Be very consistent and reliable
