What We Believe

"Jesus is Lord"

In the Presbyterian Reformed tradition, our authority is the one God in three persons,

who is fully and finally revealed in Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the unique and authoritative witness to this Triune God. The church in every generation wrestles with God's self-revelation.

The church tries its best to respond faithfully, recognizing that its actions and its discernment may at times miss the mark, all the while living and working within the grace of God, trusting and knowing that , in this mix of ambiguity and freedom, we find the God who promises to be with the church always.

what you

Can expect...

God is a God of grace and we are committed to being a grace filled church.  Expect to feel comfortable from the minute you walk in the door.  There are always greeters available either at our Welcome Desk  or in the Narthex who can answer your questions about where to go and when everything starts.  In our worship service, you will see a blended style that incorporates the old and the new. We sing traditional hymns, praise songs and even bluegrass style gospel favorites on occassion! Multi-media is utilized with announcements, music, video, and sermons.   After our service, you can enjoy coffee and a sweet snack while getting to know everyone.

what is sunday morning like?

Our Sunday School for Adults & Children meets from 9:30 to 10:15 am before our Service.  We spend time in Worship from 10:30 to 11:30 am.  Children from the age of 3 to 3rd grade leave the main service to participate in Children's Church from 10:45 to 11:30 am.

We are a church where you can "Come as you are." Casual or dressed up, we want you to feel comfortable as you worship and fellowship with us.  It doesn't matter..we are just happy you are here.

what about

my kids?

will i be asked to give money?

As a visitor, we don't ask that you give.  As regular attenders and members, we have the privilege of partnering with God's work in the world by using our gifts and resources through the local church.

We love children at Riverdale and have been booming with children lately!  Childcare is provided during worship and most church activities. Our nursery worker is assisted by volunteers who are trained and screened for the protection of your children.

Registration forms are located in the nursery/pre-school rooms for your convenience. We ask that all children are dropped off and picked up by a parent or a designated adult.

Children of all ages are welcome in to our worship service.  In fact, we include a short Children's Sermon for children age 3 to 3rd grade.  They are then dismissed to attend our Children's Church in  the Fellowship Hall until 11:30 am.  Children's Church consists of music, a lesson and often an activity.

Sunday School is available every Sunday from 9:30 to 10:15 am for all children ages 3 to 12th grade.

Our Youth Fellowship Group for kids from 5th to 12th grade meets once a month in our Fellowship Hall.  We also attend a retreat, go on a local mission trip and do service work throughout the year.
